The "Matlab Primer" and other info

Availability of the "Matlab Primer":
This book may be useful to you in learning to use Matlab. Published versions, based on Matlab Versions 4.x and 5.x can are available commercially at low cost (contact the bookstore 372-2851). There is also an older version, based on Matlab Version 3.5 which are in the public domain. It is availble in at least two ways:

I have a limited number of hardcopies, 2-sided photocopies. See me.
As a postscript file , about 25 pages, which you can either print yourself or read via "ghostview" or any other postscipt previewer. (Depending on your browser, you may be able to read it just by following the link.)

This older, free version should be adaquate for our purposes.

There is also a postscript version for Matlab Version 4 available somewhere on the web, but I believe it's under copyright so use it at your own risk!
