MyMathLab
is
a
program
similar to MyBGSU that Pearson Addison-Wesley (the textbook company)
has set
up for you. It has video lessons, homework assignments, quizzes,
tests, etc. It has an interactive program that will help you (in
several ways) do a problem step-by-step. It is a
program that we use to complete the majority of our homework.
What
you
need
to
access
CourseCompass:
1.
Valid
Email
Address:
This
could
be
your
BGSU
email address or any other valid email
address. Pearson Addison-Wesley will not sell or give your email
address to anyone so you do not have to worry about spam.
2. Course
ID: Each class has its own course
ID. Please find your course ID on your syllabus.
3. Student Access
Kit (Access Code): You will need a
"student access kit" which comes with any new textbook purchased at
BGSU's bookstore. We have asked Pearson Addison-Wesley to bundle
it with the new book which they have done free of charge. It is
also available as a standalone item, which can be purchased for $75.00
as of (8/10), by going to: http://mymathlab.com
How to Register:
Once you have the three items above,
you can register by going to
http://www.coursecompass.com
then click on "Register" and follow the
directions. It is fairly simple and straightforward.
However, if you have any problems registering you can "take a tour" by
going to: http://info.coursecompass.com/website/stu_tour2005/index.html.
This website contains three different tours:
If you are still having problems
call Technical Support at

In order to use all the features of
MyMathLab you need three programs
(Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader and Adobe QuickTime Player).
All the computers on campus and most newer computers have these
programs already installed. However, if your personal computer
does not have these programs you can quickly install them by logging
onto your MyMathLab class and clicking on "MyMathLab Installation
Wizard" which is in the first announcement.
Lastly, I highly recommend you take
10-15 minutes to run through the
tutorial called "How to Enter Answers Using the MathXL Player".
There is a link to it in the second announcement.
